Careful investigations are needed to understand the trade-offs involved in any attempts to engineer the Earth’s climate. An outright ban on solar geoengineering may not be the appropriate response.
I live in Australia where I see blue skies turned to a filmy white after small planes fly every 10 minutes through the night - emitting chemtrails that are unmistakable. Sometimes this results in a dehydrating white fog pervading all the valleys where I live that cause dry cough, sneezing, dry eyes. This white fog has appeared only in the last few years but it coincides with trees dehydrating and dropping their leaves in Spring, as if it's Autumn. It coincides with fruiting crops producing black flowers or fruits that dry up and die, so no food production. Insect populations also seem to be in decline. Despite years of rain where we live is drying out rapidly. People who have done the soil testing are reporting excessive levels of aluminium, strontium, barium, lead, sulphur, among other things. The soil is dehydrated 20cm below the ground. As someone who watches this take place in real time, I observe that the plane activity is destroying nature. Locals have observed that their dams have turned brown and their water is 'dead' - no oxygen. Governments are dismissive at best. It is my firm view that messing with nature in this way is short sighted, especially when there is literally no data for the knock on effects to soil, water, flora, fauna, human health. Climatologists don't measure soil health in the way that regenerative ag farmers do. They don't measure impact on human health either. They simply look for whether the temperature changed. Regenerative agriculture sequesters carbon faster than anything else, restores ecosystems, stores water in soil to prevent drought, results in abundant and healthy food production. This is the way forward. Our ecosystems have been ruined by big industries using harmful petrochemicals that perpetuate a destructive cycle. Nations can be fed by regenerative ag better. Also, global dimming traps ground heat in and drives up temps - this is probably the single biggest factor driving extreme temps and weather around the globe and its being caused by geo-engineering activities that are already occurring globally, except in the nations who have had the foresight to ban them. First do no harm. A global return to regenerative ag is the answer to the problem.
